For three generations our agave has come from the same volcanic highland soil. Harvested by hand, slow-roasted in brick ovens, and carried north to a family table in San Antonio, where every bottle still passes through our own hands.

Where can I buy Mar Azul Tequila?

Mar Azul Tequila is stocked at retailers across Texas, including Total Wine & More, Spec's Wines, Alamo City Liquor, and LOL Liquors. The deepest selection is in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, El Paso, and Corpus Christi. Use our store finder to search by city or zip code.

Is Mar Azul Tequila 100% agave?

Yes. Every Mar Azul expression, Reserva and Sabores alike, is made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the volcanic highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. No mixto, no shortcuts.

Who owns Mar Azul Tequila?

Mar Azul Tequila is a family-owned company founded and led by Susana Sutton, born and based in San Antonio, Texas. The agave is grown and distilled in Jalisco; the heart of the brand is South Texas.

What flavors does Mar Azul Tequila come in?

Eleven expressions in two lines. Reserva: Silver, Reposado, and Añejo. Sabores: Coconut, Coffee, Chocolate, Mint, Pomegranate, Banana, Almond, and Habanero. Each is a 100%-agave tequila blended with a real, natural ingredient.

What does “blended, not infused” mean?

Our Sabores are made by blending tequila with the real ingredient itself: the Habanero, for example, is Reposado tequila blended with natural habanero pepper. Nothing artificial steeped in after the fact; the flavor is built into the spirit.

Has Mar Azul Tequila won any awards?

Yes. Mar Azul Coconut won Double Gold at the European World Spirits Competition, one of the highest honors in international spirits judging.

Where is Mar Azul Tequila made?

In the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, the only place true tequila can come from. The piñas are steam-cooked low and slow in an autoclave, fermented in open air, and the Reserva line rests in American and Kentucky white oak.

Which Mar Azul is best for cocktails?

Silver is the bartender's workhorse, clean and bright in a Paloma or Ranch Water. The Sabores line makes one-bottle cocktails easy: Coconut in a Margarita de Coco, Coffee in a Carajillo. Our Mixologist page matches a drink to whatever mixer you already have.

How should I drink the Añejo?

Neat, in a rocks glass or copita, at room temperature. Pour it slowly and meet it without hurry. Eighteen months in Kentucky white oak gives it caramel, vanilla, and smoked oak that ice only mutes.

Can I gift Mar Azul Tequila, or order it for my business?
